What is a unit?

A unit is a token that is used to redeem access to content instead of regular currency.


If you purchase Springer+ Basic plan, you will receive 10 units to use within a month. For the Springer+ Standard plan, you will receive 120 units to use within 6 months. 


Unit cost per product: 

  • 1 Journal Article = 1 Unit
  • 1 eBook chapter, reference entry or protocol chapter = 1 Unit
  • 1 eBook with 3 chapters = 3 Units 
  • 1 complete eBook or protocol = maximum of 7 units
